Twyfelfontein
En route to Etosha is Twyfelfontein (which translates as "uncertain spring"). This valley is thought to have been inhabited for over 6000 years and contains a plethora of engravings (technically petroglyphs) on the rocks though to be about 2500 years old. They depict representations of various animals and their tracks but also include mythic beasts such as the "lion man"- drawn from the imagination rather than reality.
