sand dunes of deadvlei

Up and out before dawn to catch the early light. These sand dunes are said to be the highest and oldest in the world. The skeletons of the camelthorn trees are thought to be at least 400 years old. They died when the shifting sand dunes cut off their water supply, the heat and aridity prevents them from decay.
