A long desert drive via "Solitaire" a rather surreal fuel stop in the middle of nowhere with its spattering of ancient (slowly) rusting cars. Wildlife highlights were various weaver birds and the endemic Dune lark and shovel-snouted lizard on the inventively named "Dune 1"
